Double Down with Cape Rey Carlsbad’s Pony Package This Summer

Carlsbad CA— The highly anticipated summer horse racing season returns to San Diego’s Del Mar Race Track on July 15 and Cape Rey Carlsbad, a Hilton Resort is celebrating with a special package for visitors looking to combine thrills at the track with beachside luxury.

Cape Rey’s Pony Package includes two pre-race mint juleps or mimosas, picnic pack for two, shuttle to and from the track and an in-room amenity “track pack” with snacks, sunscreen and other items handy for a day at the races. Rates start at $329 per night and reservations can be made at www.caperey.com.

Located directly across from Carlsbad State Beach just 15 minutes north of Del Mar Race Track, Cape Rey is a perfect basecamp for exploring the north county coastal scene. Guests can spend the day at the track, then indulge in Cape Rey-style cool relaxing by the ocean view pool, sipping a signature cocktail by an outdoor fire pit or revitalizing tired “hooves” at the Ocean Crest Spa. Rounding out the summer scene on property is live music every Thursday through Sunday, a revamped daily Happy Hour and a poolside Summer Concert Series that features live bands on the last Thursday of each month through September.

Nearby, Cape Rey offers easy access to the beaches, parks, shopping and dining in Carlsbad, Leucadia, Encinitas and Oceanside. Recreation options include water sports at the beach or protected Carlsbad Lagoon, coastal bike cruising, bird watching, mountain biking and whale watching trips from Oceanside Harbor. When it comes to dining and nightlife, San Diego’s north county coastline is a hub for regional craft beer and exciting locally owned restaurant venues that pair North County’s laid-back coastal vibe with premium local products. Cape Rey is minutes away from LEGOLAND California and a short drive to other fun attractions including Sea World, San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
