San Diego County CA— MiraCosta College’s Community Education and Workforce Development Program is offering the following not-for-credit courses this spring:
Blueprint Reading with GD&T
This hands-on class helps students with blueprint reading and GD&T. Students learn to read and correctly interpret blueprints used in the manufacturing trades, and get an opportunity to draw and edit simple blueprints through step-by-step development of multi-view drawings. In addition, students will learn the basics of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). This course is the perfect intro to GD&T, symbols, applications and methods of inspection.
Fee: $150; Admin Fee: $50. Location: Technology Career Institute, 2075 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad. Time: Mondays & Wednesdays, 1/23–3/13, 5–7:30 p.m.
Inspired by a popular DYI show “Furniture Re-Imagined “is a class that explores applying different finishes, upholstery fabrics and the repurposing of traditional type furniture. So bring your chairs, small dressers, side tables and headboards.
Learn how to prep wood, paint furniture, antiquing and distressing, restyling and use of fabrics.

Spanish at a Workplace
Communicating with Spanish-speaking employees, customers, citizens or coworkers is important. In this class, you will learn lots of repetition, drills, practice and conversations that will meet your basic business communication goals. If you don’t have the time or budget for long-term Spanish classes, this class is designed for students who want to learn easy expressions and it will get you speaking as soon as possible. There will be new topics to learn each session.
