Underground Music Festival for Aspiring Musicians Flood OB Streets for 72 Hours

San Diego CA— Springboard Music Festival is taking over Ocean Beach to provide aspiring musicians the opportunity to pitch their music to industry professionals and bring music lovers an event in what feels like a grassroots “American Idol” or South by Southwest.

The Springboard “West” Music Festival begins on January 11 with a two-day “Band Bootcamp”—an opportunity for emerging artists from all over the U.S. to take the stage and showcase their talents in front of veterans and professionals in the music industry and generate exposure in front of a live crowd.

The festival ends on Saturday, January 13 with the Band & Brew Crawl, a full-day celebration that brings together all 40 bands on four stages across Ocean Beach.

Bands and solo artists selected for this year’s festival were handpicked from more than 800 acts who submitted applications and examples of their music. Bands performing can walk away with a new mentor, song for a movie, partnership with another band to begin a tour or who knows, perhaps a record deal.

All proceeds benefit nonprofits Autism Tree Project Foundation, Pioneer Day School, and Sustainable Artists.
