Ra Medical Systems Expands Footprint in Carlsbad

Innovative medical device company leases new Carlsbad space to accommodate growth

Carlsbad CAColliers International San Diego Region announces that Ra Medical Systems, makers of excimer lasers and catheters for cardiovascular and dermatological diseases, has expanded into new corporate headquarters in Carlsbad, California.

“Ra Medical Systems has experienced incredible growth over the past year,” said Dean Irwin, CEO of RA Medical Systems. “Our new space provides the ability to expand our team under one roof and support development of our innovative medical systems while still remaining in Carlsbad.”

The company recently signed a 10-year lease valued at more than $4,400,000 for the new 32,000-square foot headquarters. Tucker Hohenstein and Mike Erwin of Colliers International San Diego Region represented the landlord, the Lloyd Wells Gift Trust. Rick Heymann of Noteworthy Advisors, Inc. represented Ra Medical Systems.

Ra Medical Systems will operate its R&D, production, and sales and marketing functions for its Pharos™ and DABRA™ laser and catheter medical systems in the new building beginning this month. Last year, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) cleared the company to sell its DABRA™ system for the treatment of patients with Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).

“Ra Medical System was previously located in a 22,000-square foot campus setting across multiple smaller buildings,” said Mike Erwin, Executive Vice President at Colliers International. “Consolidating from a campus setting into a larger, single building will help improve efficiency and foster continued growth for Ra Medical Systems.”

The two-story property is located 2070 Las Palmas Drive, Carlsbad, CA (92011). 2070 Las Palmas Drive is comprised of approximately 12,000 square feet of creative office space and 20,000 square feet of research and development and manufacturing space.
