A documentary film capturing life on the Italian island of Lampedusa, a frontline in the European migrant crisis. Curated by the San Diego Italian Film Festival. Directed by Gianfranco Rosi. Not Rated. 94 min.


March 16, 7 p.m. Fatima (France 2015)

An Algerian woman living in France, Fatima spends all her time working to provide for her spirited teenage daughters. After an accident, Fatima finally pays attention to her own needs and discovers the power of poetry. Directed by Philippe Faucon. Not Rated. 79 min.


March 23, 7 p.m. April and the Extraordinary World (France 2015)

This animated adventure film ushers the viewer into an alternate reality in which the Bonapartes still rule France, electricity was never discovered, and a steam-driven cable car connects Paris to Berlin. Directed by Christian Desmares, Franck Ekinci. Rated PG. 105 min.


April 13, 7 p.m. Marguerite (France 2015)

Marguerite Dumont, an incredibly wealthy woman, has devoted her life to singing opera, but she cannot sing a note. Inspired by the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins. Directed by Xavier Giannoli. Rated R. 129 min.

Each film will screen in the MiraCosta College Little Theatre (Room 3601) at 1 Barnard Drive in Oceanside. The films will be presented in the original languages with English subtitles. Admission is free; however seating is limited.
