Coaster Schedule Changes for Chargers Season Opener

Oceanside CA – The Coaster will be running a special schedule for the Charger home opener, tonight against the Houston Texans. A $12 dollar special “Region Plus” day pass is available for the Coaster and the Trolley to the stadium. Southbound trains leave the Oceanside Station at 3:43 pm, 5:04 pm. and 5:40. The Coaster return train leaves the Old Town Station 75 minutes after the game ends. The Green Line Trolley runs every 15 minutes. New Rules on What you Can Bring in to the Stadium

New security rules will be implemented across the NFL in 2013. Only bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” – including one-gallon plastic freezer bags – will be permitted for fans at stadium plaza areas, stadium gates, or while awaiting entry into a stadium. Small clutch bags will also be permitted.
Exceptions will be made for “medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose,” according to league officials.

Leave the seat cushions home as those and the following items are also prohibited

  • Alcohol
  • Backpacks
  • Bags that exceed 12” x 6” x 12” and are not transparent
  • Balloons, beachballs, inflatable objects
  • Beverage containers, sport bottles, spray bottles
  • Boomerangs, Frisbees, sports balls
  • Briefcases
  • Chains, sticks
  • Fireworks, flammable objects
  • Guns, knives, any item used as or considered a weapon
  • Laser pointers, stun guns, water guns
  • Lawn furniture, coolers
  • Luggage
  • Mace, pepper spray
  • Musical instruments, noise making devices,(megaphones less than 12” are ok)
  • Roller blades, scooters, skates
  • Umbrellas

Tonight’s Chargers game is the nights second ‘Monday Night’ Game with a special start time of 7:20 pm. The parking lot at Qualcomm opens at 3:20 pm and is expected to be full by 4:00 pm.The gates of the stadium open 5:50 pm. or 90 minutes prior to kick-off
