Oceanside CA- A fixture on the South-west corner of Mission Ave and Mesa Dr since October 15, 1985, the 7-Eleven is set to shut down in April of next year. The franchise owner is seeking approval, from the city, to remove the retail fuel pumps, the 625 square foot above ground fuel canopy, and the associated underground fuel tanks returning the land to match the surrounding grade. The building itself will be left vacant and made available for future use by a new owner.
The lease expired at the current site but a new location was found, for the franchise owner, by the Southland Corporation Real Estate Team. The new location is .2 miles away at the South-east corner of Mission & Canyon. The new store has a tentative open date in May of 2014. The owner plans on bringing his six current store employees with him. Because of the new 7-Eleven store’s size and location, the franchisee may hire additional staff. The new site will also sell gasoline.
