ABOUT THE COMEDIANS
The Headliner for the comedy show is RUSS STOLNACK a.k.a. RUSS T. NAILZ, a six time Emmy award winner. Russ T. Nailz is well known for his many accomplishments working as a morning radio host, television business news reporter and comedian. He has impersonated some of Will Farrell’s characters. As we approach the launch of “Anchorman 2”, you may see Russ T. Nailz around town acting as “Ron Burgundy”. He may have some other surprises planned for DS Action’s “Merry All, Comedy Ball” as well.
Hosting the show for the evening is ZOLTAN KASZAS, a rising star in the comedy world. He has gone from bombing on stage during his first standup routine in 2006 to winning several comedy contests over the past year. He is considered, by other local comedians, as one of the top comics in San Diego. Zoltan’s unique style of storytelling and social commentary has won him numerous fans, which has him touring all over the country from clubs, colleges and festivals. His most recent accomplishment is taking first place in “Seattle’s International Comedy Competition”, just this week. Out of 1300 comedians from around the country, Zoltan came in as the top performer.
ERIK RIVERA, who performed at DS Action’s “Merry All, Comedy Ball” in 2011, was requested by guests to return. Since bursting onto the New York City comedy scene in 2004, Erik Rivera’s name has become synonymous with comedy. His boy next door good looks and unique perspective make him one of today’s fastest rising young comedians. His quick wit, along with his commanding stage presence, charisma, and infectious smile make him a favorite act at comedy clubs, events, awards shows and colleges throughout the country. Erik is one of the most requested comedians on both coasts. He spends much of his time in New York City and Los Angeles. Erik recently announced his partnership with Eva Longoria on a new sitcom to air on NBC. (Click here for more about the announcement details.)
MAL HALL is a comedian, from San Diego, whose primary passion is doing stand-up. He makes his home in Los Angeles and is currently one of the brightest up and coming comedians in the country. He has quickly evolved into a popular and successful college act, performing at hundreds of campuses across the country. Mal’s conversational style, keen observations and cool delivery have proven to be greatly appreciated and well received by his audiences, both young and old. Mal is a regular feature act for national headliners Alonzo Bodden and Anjelah Johnson and has been traveling with them to clubs and theatres all across the country. A finalist of NBC’s Standup For Diversity Showcase in 2009, Mal was a popular member of their nationwide college tour in 2010. In 2012 Mal shot his first television project for FuseTV as a correspondent on the hilarious clip show OffBeat. On a monthly basis, Mal can be seen at his self-produced comedy show in San Diego called “Mal Hall presents The Gaslamp Comedy Show at The Tipsy Crow”. DS Action is grateful to Mal for his ongoing support of DS Action and our cause.
