Oceanside CA- Flushmate, the maker of a high-pressure flushing system sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s, is expanding its recall of the parts because they can burst near a seam with force enough to shatter the toilet tank. Consumers should stop using this system due to impact and laceration hazards and turn the water off to the unit.
The recall expands upon a 2012 recall of the same system due to reports of system failures resulting in property damage. The expansion covers units made between March 2008 and June 2009. Serial numbers for this product have a production date code as part of the serial number. The high-pressure flushing system cost about $110, and was sold at Home Depot, Lowe’s, and any specialty stores that sell toilets.
