Music of Film Noir at the Brooks

Oceanside CA- The Oceanside Public Library is hosting an extraordinary musical performance showcasing the music of Film Noir on February 8, 2014, as part of The Big Read in Oceanside. This free concert is inspired by the 2014 Big Read book selection, The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett. The Big Read is a national program designed to restore reading to the center of American culture.

The concert features singer Laura Ellis, this performance features an evening of the haunting and sultry music of film noir, evoking the times of black and white movies rife with con artists, gullible marks, and memorable music. Laura Ellis’ broadcast credits include History Channel’s Route 66 and Modern Marvels documentaries, Make Me Laugh, the HBO Carnivale series, a commercial appearance with Della Reese, and ABC’s Modern Family.
