Michael McGuire, of Oceanside, had just picked up his child from Macaullife Elementary School and was following the Explorer when the incident occurred. ” The SUV seemed to lose its brakes going down the hill and the driver lost control when she hit a dip in the road.”  said McGuire. “She must have been doing about 40 mph when she crashed into the house.” McGuire said he checked to see if everyone was okay and dialed 911. Members of the Oceanside Fire Department shut off the water, power and gas to the home while tending to the injuries of the elderly victim.

The homeowner was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The three occupants of the Explorer were uninjured and the accident is being investigated by Oceanside Police.
