Joseph Crone’s Art, Hyper-realistic Drawing Exhibit and Workshop

Oceanside CA-  The Oceanside Public Library announced a special exhibition of Noir Pencil Art by Joseph Crone at the Civic Center Library. Joseph Crone’s art, through hyper-realistic drawing, explores the cinematic narratives and defining visual styles associated with classic film noir. Crone’s work was recently featured in the Artist’s Magazine and at the Los Angeles Art Show. This exhibition is part of the Oceanside Library’s ‘Big Read’ event.

In addition to the exhibit, the Library, in partnership with The Hill Street Country Club, will host a free workshop led by Joseph Crone called “Photorealism Through Drawing” on Friday, February 28, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. in Artists’ Alley in downtown Oceanside. This workshop will focus on the detailed approach used to achieve photorealistic drawings using colored pencil on film. Participants are encouraged to bring a photo of choice, preferably in black and white. Film and colored pencils will be provided. Seating and materials are extremely limited for this event, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
