Oceanside CA- Local group ‘The BHC’ –The BooHooCrew will be part of the upcoming CoastFest music lineup on May 10 in Oceanside.
The group is unique. “We’re a kids band but we may be harder rock than the other 3 bands playing at CoastFest.” said Clint Perry with The BHC. The band consists of Perry, vocals, guitars, wearer of black, along with; Steph Perry, vocals, guitar, “Hype Girl” wearer of pink, Ernie LeDuc “wearer of white” plays Bass with Greg Stone “wearer of red” on Drums.
Clint Perry and The Boo Hoo Crew roots began to form in the winter of 2011 after Clint had self-published a kids book titled “Pack Rat Pat, Don’t Take That!” He went to a few local libraries and read it to the kids but ended up playing a few kids songs to go along with it. One thing led to another and, without really realizing it, the next thing you know Clint was fronting a band of parents playing original kids tunes.
Prior to CoastFest, The BHC has performed at least 400, extremely interactive shows with lots of audience participation in San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside Counties since their inception in 2011. The venues include; LEGOLAND, Theatricum Botanicum, Quail Botanical Gardens Family Fun Nights, The San Diego County Library’s Annual Book Festival and The New San Diego Children’s Museum’s New Year’s Bash.
Along with those performances the group does volunteer performances at Rady Children’s once a month. They also work with Chick-Fil-A on Military Appreciation night. Last year they played the Oceanside event but this year they will travel to Santee.
During 2014, the group is going to release 12 singles, one every month. ‘Teddy Bear March’ will come out in May with ‘Vroom’ set for release in June. The 12 releases will culminate with the entire album release set for 2015
