Care n Share Toy Drive at the Fair

Del Mar CA – The San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons/Sav-on, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Torrey Pines is asking for donations of new and gently used stuffed animals for the Care n Share Toy Drive at the Fair running now through July 6. If you are a lucky winner at any of the midway games, please consider making a donation at any of the toy drop off locations at the Fair: the Main Gate, West Gate and San Diego Pavilion, located in Family Funville (formerly the infield). Your toy donations will be taken to young patients at Rady Children’s Hospital and Children’s Lifeline in San Diego, and Hospital Infantil de las Californias in Tijuana. For more information go to: www.torreypinesrotary.org .

From its humble beginning of 150 stuffed animals collected in a wooden toy bin at the 2009 San Diego County Fair, the Care n Share Toy Drive has to date distributed more than 22,000 new and gently used stuffed animals to help put smiles on the faces of young patients in the region on both sides of the border. Recipient organizations include Rady Children’s Hospital, Hospital Infantil de las Californias, Children’s Lifeline, UCSD Flying Samaritans, Armed Services YMCA, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit of FMARG, UCSD’s Alpha Phi Omega Operation Santa, Home Start, and Assistance League North Coast.
