Markstein Beverage Co. and Folds of Honor Foundation to Present $5,000 Scholarship to Spouse of Fallen Marine

Oceanside CA– North County beer distributor Markstein Beverage Co. and Folds of Honor Foundation will present a $5,000 college scholarship to Tomomi Huff, wife of fallen United States Marine Corps Corporal Justin L. Huff. The presentation will take place at the MiraCosta College, Board of Trustees Room,1 Barnard Drive, MiraCosta College, Oceanside, CA 92056, on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, 3 p.m. during the MiraCosta College Board of Trustees Meeting.

Of more than 1 million dependents of military service men and women, 87% do not qualify for educational assistance from the US Department of Veterans Affairs and other government programs. This scholarship helps military dependents with needed financial support to attend college.

Tomomi’s husband, USMC Corporal Justin L. Huff, was killed January 2, 2006, while he was attending intelligence school in Virginia. Tomomi was three months pregnant with their son at the time. Tomomi now attends MiraCosta College in Oceanside where she is majoring in Nursing.
