Vista CA– If you like music by Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Duke Ellington and other greats, from Bach to Bono, you’ll love the “piano romance” of our resident pianist, Robert Parker (www.robertparkerpiano.com). Robert isn’t actually a gallery “resident,” but he does appear here often, to the delight of our ArtBeat clientele, many of whom come early to grab their favorite table and enjoy a glass of vino before and during the performance.
Admission is free and the atmosphere is free ‘n’ easy, as is Robert’s approach. “I love the ArtBeat energy,” he says. “It’s a bistro environment. People sometimes stroll into the performance area, then out to see some of the gallery’s eclectic art, then back in to sit down, listen and enjoy. The crowd is always respectful and appreciative.”
I’m always delighted to see patrons show their appreciation by placing gratuities in Robert’s “tip jar” — a miniature piano. He’s an award-winning professional who adds a high-toned touch of class to ArtBeat.
Recently, Tanya Chahal and Amy Brooker ushered in their Saturday evening enjoying Robert’s artistry plus what they termed “the great array displayed – it’s not your basic wall art here.”
