MiraCosta College Theatre Presents Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’

Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College’s Theatre Department is proud to present, ‘Twelfth Night’, one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies. The play opens November 14 at the MiraCosta College Theatre, located 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside. Tracy Williams will direct.

‘Twelfth Night’ never pretends to be anything but improbable, with its coincidences and hard-to-believe mistaken identities. The story takes the audience for a wild ride from start to finish as it centers around the story of Viola, a young lady who becomes separated from her twin brother Sebastian after a horrific shipwreck. Finding herself in the strange and mystical land of Illyria, Viola goes on a journey to rebuild her life, but with a twist—she is disguised as a man! Add in some drunken knights, forbidden love, sword dueling, and rambunctious singing and that is just some of the hilarity that the play will bring to audiences of all ages. “Twelfth Night” has everything that is good about Shakespeare’s comedies and a little bit more.

The cast features Rosie Gordon as Viola, Jose Balistrieri as Sebastian, Nathan Stein as Orsino, and Maggie Willet as Olivia. Rounding out the cast are Alex Smith, Ala Tiatia, Matt Abosamra, Timothy Cabal, Christopher Lynch, Emily Neifert, Lainey Woo, Elaine Algeo, Natasha Teymourian, Don Naegele, Kyle Dowdy, Travis Charron, Steven Garretson, Justin Carty, Joshua Greenfield, Camryn Capizzi, Sean Hofmakel, Kelsey Cyganik, Jordon Simpkins, Ana Reyes, Rachael Hodge, Joey Prete, Melissa Bonilla, and Reden Magtira.

“Twelfth Night” is scheduled for November 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. and November 15, 16, 22 and 23 at 2 p.m. General admission, $15; seniors/staff, $12; students, $10.
