The theme for the 2015 San Diego County Fair is “A Fair to Remember, A Celebration of World’s Fairs and Balboa Park,” and commemorates the centennial anniversary of the 1915 Panama – California Exposition held in Balboa Park. The theme will unite the largest event in San Diego County and fourth largest Fair in North America with a National Historic Landmark and San Diego treasure known as Balboa Park. World’s Fairs have long been a platform for education, culture, technology, food and new inventions. What do the bicycle, telephone, ice cream cone, mustard, air conditioning and the Ford Mustang all have in common? They were all introduced at a World’s Fair! The Fair will also demonstrate how agriculture was and still is the core of all Fairs and Expositions.
The Fair will open on Friday, June 5 at 4:00 p.m. continuing through Sunday, July 5, 2015. Take a break from the Friday freeway and make it your “Friday-Fairday!” The Fair will be closed on Mondays and the first two Tuesdays.
