A Sharp and Comical Twists to Dickens Tale
Oceanside CA— Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) performs it’s critically acclaimed Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol by Tom Mula in the historic downtown Oceanside’s Brooks Theatre from Dec. 12th through Dec. 21st.
This unique holiday production is a twist to Dickens’ Christmas Carol which reveals to audiences poignant reflections, soulful perspectives and side-splitting humor relief. The featured classic Dickensian story comes from the perspective of Marley (old Scrooge’s spidery partner) who appears in chains and locks seeking to redeem his wicked miserly self from eternal damnation.
Christopher Williams and Gedaly Guberek, are the featured actors playing multiple roles using puppetry, mime, shadow effects with a sound designer, Ted Lieb, creating all of the sound effects. Williams and Guberek will be directing and choreographing the piece as Paul Canaletti provides the lighting design. Lighting and sound are particularly important in this multi-sensory production which immerses the audience deeper into this revealing tale of redemption and Christmas cheer.
In 2011, Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) became the Brooks Theatre’s resident artistic company. Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol” directed by Artistic Director Christopher Williams was the inaugural production for OTC which received rave reviews for the original production.
