Carlsbad CA— There are only a small handful of chicken sculptures left from the original SMAC Chicken Parade of twenty-nine. The remaining unique sculptures are now on exhibit at Homelife Village Realtors located 500 Grand Ave, Carlsbad Village.
The exhibit will run through January 15, 2015. Abstract paintings by Cheryl Ehlers and Andrea JNeene, as well as a series of American pop photography by Cliff Serna are also currently on exhibit. Money raised from each chicken sculpture sold goes to support the San Marcos Arts Council and its mission to “foster and promote an arts environment that enriches the community and envision a culturally exciting and artistically vibrant community wherein all forms of the arts flourish.” Over the last five years the Council has coordinated arts programming such as writing workshops, visual art lessons, professional skills workshops for artists, small-scale murals, and it has offered the knowledge of its Board Members as a resource for other non-profit organizations.
For those looking to get involved, volunteer or make a meaningful donation to the San Marcos Arts Council, please contact Board President, Marilyn Huerta or Chairman, Craig Garcia at firstname.lastname@example.org.

About the San Marcos Arts Council
Founded in 2009, the San Marcos Arts Council, Inc. of San Marcos, California is an all-volunteer Board organized to promote and advance artistic activity in our community, primarily through education, exposing the public to the fine and performing arts, and serving as a community resource in promoting artistic development throughout our city and neighboring communities. Since its inception, the Council has regularly hosted free hands-on activities at community events, partnered with artists and non-profits, as well as sponsored artist workshops. A City grant in 2013 has allowed the Council to reach new heights in programming and outreach. Visit the Council at www.SanMarcosArtsCouncil.com.
