San Diego, North County CA— Three local groups need San Diego-area community members’ support to push them onto the leader boards of a national music competition.
Pop artists Torrey Mercer and Alexa, as well as country band The Jackstones are contestants in the 2014 Bands4Good Challenge™, an innovative new virtual music competition providing unprecedented industry access to unsigned artists of all genres, instrumentation and styles, while also raising money to ensure music is in schools across the United States.
People in the San Diego area and around the world have two opportunities to support these local musicians. First, fans can vote once per day without cost by visiting their specific voting platforms. This is a completely free option for fans to get involved. Second, fans have the option to purchase additional donation votes in package bundles in which the more money donated to support the music education charity partners, the more votes granted to Torrey Mercer, Alexa, and/or The Jackstones.
Along with both the donation votes and free fan votes, professional judges grade the 2014 competition’s exceptional talent. These scores combined with the final fan vote tallies will determine which contestants move on to the final stages of competition.
Each performer’s submission to the Bands4Good challenge features a track which best represents their style. Running the gamut from country to pop, these San Diego-based performers’ backgrounds are as distinct from each other as their sound. Learn more about their stories, listen to their auditions, and vote at the following links:
- Pop artist Torrey Mercer of Solana Beach
- Pop artist Alexa (Villa) of Vista
- Country band The Jackstones of San Diego, comprised of Andy Machin, Rick Lorenzini, George Nelms and Bjorn DeBoer
With the entire community backing them, musicians Torrey Mercer, Alexa and The Jackstones can progress to the finals and have their performances stream during a live national finale show and potentially take home the grand prize package. This includes career development, vocal/instrumental coaching, recording studio sessions, performance opportunities and introductions to industry professionals.
The 2014 Bands4Good Challenge, presented by Doing Good Network™, is both a serious talent competition recognizing the best of the best in aspiring artists as well as a fundraiser to benefit impactful music education programs.
