“My partner (Jon Seabron) and I are going to NYC for the funeral of Officer Wejian Liu, this weekend, to stand together with fellow officers from across the United States and honor these murdered officers.” said Matt Lyons.

The two Oceanside Police Officers are taking their own time off and there is no cost to the city.

JetBlue, based in Queens, New York, graciously offered free flights for up to two officers from each department, along the routes they serve, to attend the funeral services for the fallen officers in New York.

On December 20, 2014, New York City Police Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were killed in their patrol car on a Brooklyn street by a shooter who later killed himself.
