Don Diego Featured on KOCT TV’s ‘Oceanside Spectrum’

Oceanside CA— The Don Diego Scholarship Foundation is featured on KOCT TV’s February edition of ‘Oceanside Spectrum’ airing on KOCT and on demand at www.koct.org now through February 27, 2015. Don Diego’s ambitious 2015 scholarship program captured the show’s second segment and enthusiastic attention of personable host Elaine Swann, who interviewed Executive Director Chana Mannen.

Upon learning that Don Diego will provide $41,500 in college scholarships to 13 deserving San Diego County high school seniors in 2015, Swann said she was impressed by the Board of Directors’ thoughtfulness. She also noted the significance of the Board’s reaching out to students pursuing an AA/AS degree by offering its inaugural $2,500 vocational education scholarship. Most of all, Swann was amazed to discover how well past recipients are doing. “An astrophysicist!” she exclaimed, as Mannen described the many success stories of recipients achieving great things in diverse fields and giving back to their community, their country and the world.

Mannen states, “We are so appreciative of Elaine and KOCT TV. KOCT provides a wonderful service to the local community and to nonprofits such as ours that benefit people throughout the county. In the past, after we’ve appeared on ‘Oceanside Spectrum,’ people have told me, ‘We saw you on TV!’ I am confident that the show’s popularity will result in many scholarship applications from outstanding students.”

She adds, “The airing dovetails perfectly with our scholarship cycle. Applications are due at midnight on March 16, 2015.” Eligibility requirements and applications are at www.dondiegoscholarship.org. For questions, please contact cmannen@sdfair.com.
