Blacks In The Civil War: A Documentary And Presentation

Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Public Library in collaboration with North County African American Woman’s Association is proud to host a series of programs for Black History month this February. The first in the series will take place on Saturday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Civic Center Community Rooms. Civil War: The Untold Story will be screened and a presentation and discussion with local expert Reginald Owens will follow.

Civil War: The Untold Story is a PBS documentary from Great Divide Pictures. The film illustrates how our African American ancestors were an important and inspirational part of the Civil War story. Reginald Owens, two-time past president of the North County Chapter of the NAACP, professor of business at Palomar College and a Civil War buff will create an intimate portrait of this forgotten history.
