One Arrest in Oceanside Meth Lab Bust

Oceanside CA— On January 29, 2015 Oceanside Police Department’s S.W.A.T., Special Enforcement Section and the Narcotics Task Force executed a Search Warrant in the 600 block of Sleeping Indian. The property is approximately 17 acres and consists of numerous RV type trailers, shacks and outbuildings.

Due to the strong belief of a working lab on the property, County Hazmat was notified and appropriate precautions were put into place. Units executed the Search warrant on the entire 17 acres. SWAT secured the area believed to contain the lab. Once the location was secured, Clandestine Lab trained officers made entry into the lab (a RV) and confirmed its existence. San Diego Fire Department and County HazMat took possession of all the chemicals including a high pressure cylinder which was determined to be filled with hydrochloric gas (very explosive). Four to six ounces of freshly manufactured Meth was seized. DEA lab personnel seized a portion of the chemicals for evidentiary purposes.

Due to the dangerous nature of the operation and its sheer geographical size, thirty six Law Enforcement Officers from multiple agencies assisted in the execution of the Search Warrant. Oceanside Fire Department, SDFD and County Hazmat each responded equipment and personnel and the Drug Enforcement Administration provided a helicopter and lab personnel. The entire operation took approximately seven hours to complete.
