Man Arrested After 3 Hour Standoff in Vista

Vista CA— The Vista Gang Enforcement Team (GET) obtained information that felony warrant suspect Sergio Weik (DOB12/11/1982) was at the residence located 644 Rancho Vista Road, in the City of Vista. The Gang Enforcement Team received additional information Weik may be in possession of firearms. A telephonic search warrant was obtained and the Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Detail (SED) and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) were requested to assist with the service of the warrant.

During the execution of the warrant, several people voluntarily exited the residence. Those people confirmed Weik was in the home. Numerous attempts were made to get Weik to exit the residence. After approximately three hours, and several deployments of chemical agent, Weik was taken into custody.

The GET team searched the residence and seized two firearms, methamphetamine, heroin, evidence of sales of controlled substances, hundreds of rounds of various calibers of ammunition, and burglary tools.

Weik was processed at the Vista Patrol Station and booked at the Vista Detention Facility for the outstanding felony warrant, weapons charges and narcotics related charges
