The California Center for the Arts, Escondido Presents: Beethoven The Great

Escondido CA— The California Center for the Arts, Escondido will be presenting an afternoon of Beethoven’s music on March 1, 2015 at 3:00pm. Two of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s works, the Choral Fantasy and the Mass in C Major will be featured and accompanied by an orchestra, piano and vocal soloists.

The Choral Fantasy contains the same well-known melodic theme as Beethoven’s monumental Ninth Symphony and opens with an elaborate piano solo, much like a miniature concerto, by California State University San Marcos piano professor, Ching-Ming Cheng. Guest conductor, John LoPiccolo, will conduct the Choral Fantasy. The vocal soloists for Mass in C Major and Choral Fantasy include: Caroline Nelms, soprano, Katherine Lundeen, mezzo, Benjamin Plache, tenor, and Michael Blinco, bass.
