Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College’s Oceanside Campus will host a free screening of the dramatic true story, “A Sacred Journey” on Friday, February 27 at 5:30 p.m. The evening will also feature a special appearance by the films executive producer/director, Ernesto Quintero.
“A Sacred Journey” is a story about Juan Quintero, who struggles with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and his choice to commission a mural when he is told he only has six months left to live. Family and community come together in this powerful documentation of Juan’s fight with ALS, and together they create a mural that commemorates their lives and neighborhood. As the mural takes on vibrant color, the ugly reality of Juan’s failing physical body fades in. The family is faced with the dilemma of letting Juan go.
