Facebook Safety Seminar in Carlsbad

Carlsbad CA— The Carlsbad community is invited to a free seminar Thursday, March 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa to learn about the tools available to combat inappropriate content, harassment and other forms of cyber-bullying.

The seminar, focusing on allowing teens and parents to be active online participants while empowering them with the tools to stay safe, is sponsored by Facebook, Senator Patricia Bates, the Carlsbad Unified School District, the San Diego District Attorney’s Office and the City of Carlsbad Police Department.

Following an overview of online safety tools, there will be a panel discussion, “Are Parents Responsible for What Their Children Post Online?” with Carlsbad Unified School District Superintendent, Dr. Suzette Lovely and representatives from the district attorney’s office and City of Carlsbad Police Department.
