Suspects from Oceanside, Vista Arrested in Carlsbad for Grand Theft from Vehicle

Carlsbad CA— Early March 21, 2015, at 2:49 a.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department responded to the report of a theft from a vehicle in the 7500 block of Navigator Circle. As officers responded to the location, the suspect vehicle was leaving.

Officers located the suspect vehicle in the area. The occupants and the vehicle were searched and stolen property was located.

This investigation is ongoing. The police department does not believe that there are any outstanding suspects related to this incident. There were no injuries to officers or the suspects.

The suspects have been identified as 26-year-old Cesar Herrera of Oceanside, 36-year-old Angelita Cruz of Oceanside and 48-year-old Steven Cannon of Vista. Cannon had two active felony warrants for his arrest for drug charges and for stealing a vehicle. All suspects will be booked into the Vista Detention Facility for 487 PC Grand Theft, 496 PC Possession of Stolen Property and 182 PC Conspiracy to Commit a Theft. Cannon was also booked for his felony warrants. Bail is set for Herrera and Cruz at $20,000. Cannon has no bail due to his warrants.
