San Diego CA— Jimmy Ayala has been named an officer of Pardee Homes, announced Beth Fischer, Division President for the multi-regional home builder. Ayala is now Vice President of Project Management at Pardee Homes. Ayala brings more than a decade of experience in land use, planning and community development to his new position.
Joining Pardee in 2003 as a Project Coordinator, Ayala rose to Project Manager and then Director of Community Development in 2007. Transitioning to his new role, Ayala will add oversight of Land Development, Architecture and Landscape, and Community Relations to his existing duties.
“During his tenure, Jimmy has artfully navigated some of the most difficult entitlements in San Diego County and has been a resource for our team on regulatory matters,” said Beth Fischer, Division President. “Jimmy’s leadership helps to continue positioning Pardee as a thoughtful and collaborative homebuilder that introduces well-planned, unique projects to the San Diego region.”
In his most recent capacity as the Director of Community Development, Ayala provided direction and guidance to facilitate the approval of new Pardee communities throughout San Diego. Ayala established and maintained strong relationships with the communities Pardee Homes serves. With more than 15 years of real estate development and construction experience, Ayala played a vital role in the growth of Pardee’s master-planned communities in San Diego. Through his ability to forge effective alliances with key stakeholders—including school districts and local, state and federal agencies— Ayala advanced projects from initial strategy and land acquisition to completion. Ayala also managed the design and preparation of environmental documents and integrated residential, commercial, recreational and open space land uses into master plans to maximize community investment. Additionally, Ayala negotiated and implemented affordable housing agreements with housing commissions and investment partners, and ensured funding and completion of major infrastructure projects.
“Working for a company that cares about the places and people it serves has been a true privilege,” said Ayala. “I am excited about this new role and continuing to help Pardee grow and remain a leader in our industry. I am ready to take on new challenges, to give back to the communities we serve and to provide the highest quality housing and service throughout the region. ”
Ayala’s community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Taxpayers Association, the Southeastern Economic Development Corporation and the Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego County Water Authority. He is a graduate of LEAD San Diego. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a Masters of Business Administration from San Diego State University. Ayala was born and raised in San Diego and is bilingual and fluent in both Spanish and English.
