Western Week

Four American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Association (PCQHA) shows, and National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) classes are the hallmarks of Western Week. Prepare to be dazzled as a cavalcade of champion horses and riders blast into the Del Mar Fairgrounds Arena for “Night of the Horse” on Saturday, April 18.   This week’s featured evening performance sponsored by Mary’s Tack & Feed at 7 p.m., presents multiple equestrian acts. Among the many entertaining performers, equine extremist Tommie Turvey will perform hilarious comedy and nail-biting daredevil acts. Mustang makeover champ Bobby Kerr, and his team of wild American Mustangs, will inspire with their entertaining display of courage and trust. Icelandic horses will light up the night and Peruvian Pasos will add an international flair with music and an elegant, graceful, and colorful dancer and so much more!

 Dressage Week

You needn’t be an expert in the sport to be astonished and awed by the “Evening of Musical Freestyles” Dressage competition on Saturday night, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. Olympic and World Champion pairs demonstrate the artistry, athleticism and awe-inspiring collaboration between horses and riders which is required to compete at these highest national and international levels.
