Oceanside CA— Stone In Sling Productions will begin shooting its faith-based short film Dark Redemption in Oceanside in this month. This movie short is a pre-cursor to the theatrical version of the film to be shot at a later date.
Dark Redemption, an homage to film noir, is the story of Alan Flynn, a broken and bitter ex-cop who is grieving the tragic loss of his wife and young son who were brutally murdered. Flynn now works as a Private Investigator in 1947 Hollywood where there is no case too small or too dirty for him to take on.
When one of Flynn’s clients ends up dead in a seedy Motel a few blocks off of Hollywood and Vine, Flynn becomes the number one suspect. Of course, it doesn’t help Flynn that the arresting officer is his former partner who has an axe to grind and a score to settle with Flynn.
Enter the femme fatale and sister of the deceased client and things get really sticky. Add a crazy former silent film star and a gaggle of gangsters to the mix and Flynn soon finds himself going down for the third count.
But there is redemption for Alan Flynn – albeit Dark and unexpected. God finds a way of working things out even for those who don’t think they need His help.
The production company is filming at the Odd Fellows Hall on Mission and Coast Highway and to expect wrap in 4 days.
