Miss Oceanside, Miss Teen Oceanside Crowned for 2015

Oceanside CA— The 2015 Miss Oceanside and Miss Teen Oceanside, were crowned last night, April 25th, during the Oceanside Scholarship Pageant sponsored by the Oceanside SeaLions Club.

Kylea McKenzie was named Miss Oceanside and Jacinda Rios received the title, Miss Teen Oceanside in front of a packed house at the James Truax Performing Arts Center on the campus of El Camino High School.

There were three phases of competition, Saturday night, in the pageant; the ‘Theme wear’ competition, the ‘Evening Gown’ competition and the final contestant interview on stage.

There were 11 competitors each for the Miss Teen Oceanside and Miss Oceanside title.

Kylea McKenzie is joined in her court by; Jacqueline Montano, first runner up, Teresa Gaspar, second runner-up and Iris Pena third runner-up.
Also competing for the Miss Oceanside Crown were; Tatum Torres, Jasmine Calderon, Yesenia Obeso, Melody Vivar, Alicia Cacho, Mariana Cruz and Ashley Rodriguez.

Also competing for the Miss Teen Oceanside Crown were; Layla Killion, Savannah Hemstreet, Sandra Valdiva, Elizabeth Carlson, Ilona Malinovska, Sarah Holloway and Amanda Hall.

Master of Ceremonies for the night was Brian Graham with entertainment provided by Debbie Nicastro.

Plenty of tears were shed as Miss Oceanside-2014, Victoria Troupe and Miss Teen Oceanside-2014, Madison George gave their farewell speeches, passed along their crowns and did their final walks. The two have become extremely close friends over their past year of service as goodwill ambassadors for the City of Oceanside, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and the Oceanside Sea Lions Club.

Prizes for the winners included cash scholarships, with donations from the Oceanside SeaLions Club, Pam Pahnke, Zucette Lumbas, Jackie Lazaga, Gloria Wadell, Doris Williams and Richard Stevens.  Gift certificates from local individuals and businesses were also provided to the winners.
