Raina Colvin Mandalas and Innerscapes Exhibit at ArtBeat

The Exhibit runs through May 10, 2015

Vista CA— The personal becomes universal in Valley Center artist Raina Colvin’s featured exhibit on display through May 10, 2015 at ArtBeat on Main Street Gallery and Wine Lounge, 330 Main Street, Vista. Contemplative and colorful, the 11 representative works exude outer beauty and invite inner retrospection.

The exhibit showcases two of Colvin’s favorite genres. Her mandalas (a spiritual symbol in certain cultures and religions representing the universe) swirl with rich, vibrant hues. Her thought-provoking innerscapes bridge the conscious and subconscious.

ArtBeat owner Kait Matthews notes, “When I initially saw images of Raina’s work, I was impressed by the way her artistic expression flows outward while drawing you inward. To experience their magic fully, they have to be seen in person.”

Colvin says that after this first ArtBeat show, she plans to continue displaying her work at the Gallery, which she initially encountered while taking a life drawing class from Gallery Manager, instructor and exhibitor Maggie Chiaro. She confides, “Although I have tons of drawing experience, I was energized by Maggie’s knowledge of anatomy and all things art-wise. I love ArtBeat’s vibe and the high quality of the other artists who display their work.”

On her website, at www.rainacolvin.com, Colvin describes the impetus for her creativity, saying, “Drawing is what I pull to me as well as what is drawn out of me. Drawn to me, drawn through me and drawn out of me. Drawing is the inspiration and expression of my life.”

Matthews says, “We are so delighted Raina is sharing her art and life with us. The final day of the exhibit is Mother’s Day – a perfect way to celebrate life, love and family – with a nice glass of wine to top it off!”
