Carlsbad CA— The Charles Schwab Corporation’s 11th annual Schwab Volunteer Week took place in 102 cities across the United States, during which thousands of Schwab employees and executives team up to help local charities. This year’s event had a record number of participants, with more than 3,700 Schwabbies donating approximately 15,000 service hours to 258 projects benefiting nearly 200 charities.
The Carlsbad office selected the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad to be the beneficiary of their volunteer hours. “What a great day we had with our 13 Schwab volunteers,” enthused Clubhouse Director Andy Purviance. “They painted, cleaned, played with the kids. They even bought our entire staff lunch, and came up with a cash donation as well!”
Mark Morgan, VP and Branch Manager of Schwab’s Carlsbad and Temecula office added: “The San Diego area employees of Charles Schwab found volunteering at the Club to be very uplifting. Seeing the smiles on kids’ faces left us wanting to give even more of ourselves. We were in awe of the work Andy and his team do each and every day to make such a huge impact on the lives of Carlsbad’s most precious resource – our children.”
