The Barnwell Shift Opens Feeding the Soul Foundation’s Summer Concert Series

Oceanside CA— Feeding the Soul Foundation, a non-profit organization that highlights the talent of local musicians to promote local foundations and businesses, is starting the summer celebration with not one, not two, but three summer concerts kicking off this Saturday, June 27 at Living Tea Brewing Company from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The concerts are every fourth Saturday.

Everyone is invited to enjoy the musical stylings of local musicians, delicious food and drinks and local vendors.  The first concert will benefit Brother Benno’s Homeless Shelter and Kitchen, a non-profit dedicated to serving the poor and homeless in San Diego.

“There’s no better way to celebrate summer than outside with the sun shining and music filling your ears, listening to great talent,” said Vallie Gilley, Feeding the Soul’s Founder and Executive Director. “We are so excited to host three different concerts, at three different venues, with so many talented musical guests.”

The first concert will be at the Living Tea Brewing Company and will feature Barnwell Shift and Nathan Riviera. There will be a variety of delicious food including vegan and vegetarian cuisine, Kansas City barbeque and homemade desserts available for attendees. Doors open at 5 p.m. with live music until 8 p.m. followed by a night full of dancing with a live DJ until 10 p.m.

The second show in the summer concert series will be Saturday, July 25 at Jitters Coffee Pub, benefiting the Project Youth with performances by The Vibrometers and Jessie Payo. The final concert celebration will be Saturday, August 22 at Goat Hill Park benefiting Outdoor Outreach with Bushwalla and Tolan Shaw & Friends. The last concert will be the perfect spot to wrap up a successful summer spent with good music, great food and amazing company.

“With almost 4 million meals served, 1 million pieces of clothing donated and 200 thousand showers given, there’s no doubt that Brother Benno’s Homeless Shelter and Kitchen is making a huge difference in our community and we want to help them keep doing so, which is why we chose them as the first concert’s beneficiary” said Gilley. “Feeding the Soul Foundation is excited to work with three different non-profits during the ‘O’side Outside Summer Series’ that support and uplift our community by doing little things for those who need an extra hand.”
