OPD Officers, K-9’s Do Well in Competition

Oceanside CA— During the weekend of June 27-28, 2015 Oceanside Police Officers and their K-9 partners competed in a competition in Bakersfield, Ca. In spite of very hot weather, the teams did very well.

Officer Smith and K9 Nero, Officer Hay and K9 Gonzo and Officer Wilson and K9 Atlas all competed at the Bakersfield Police Department K9 Competition against over 30 other K9 Teams.

All three of the Oceanside Police Department handlers did well bringing home several awards as follows:

 Officer Smith/ Nero:

  • 1st Place Article/Evidence Search
  • 2nd Place Protection
  • 3rd Place Building Search
  • 4th Place Obedience

Officer Hay/Gonzo:

  • 2nd Place Overall Novice

Officer Wilson/Atlas:

  • 1st Place Agility/Obstacle Course
  • 5th Place Narcotics – Vehicle Search
  • 5th Place Obedience
  • 5th Place Area Search
