Effective immediately, Tom Hale is moving into the role of ZUZA president, and Randy Brown is the new vice president. Both are long-time San Diego print industry veterans who have served in key management positions at ZUZA over the past few years. These promotions expand the executive management team, which includes the company’s owners, Philip Lurie and Martin Solarsh, and provide more bandwidth for pursuing strategic growth initiatives and synergistic acquisitions.

Tom Hale has 30 years of experience in the San Diego printing industry. While pursuing his undergraduate studies at San Diego State University, Tom worked in production at American Color, a prepress facility, with the intent of launching his sales career in prepress services. He stayed on at American Color, progressing from sales positions to managing the West Coast sales team before transitioning to the print sector. Tom then went on to hold the positions of sales, VP of sales and president at Precision Litho, one of the locations that had been owned by Consolidated Graphics, now a part of RR Donnelley (Nasdaq:RRD). With two years on the ZUZA team, Tom is focused on bringing ZUZA’s clients the latest tools to optimize their marketing programs while boosting ZUZA’s efficiency and expanding its market presence.
Randy Brown’s printing career spans 36 years. Prior to coming to ZUZA, Randy worked at such companies as Westamerica Graphics, Continental Litho and Precision Litho. His extensive print production experience includes running presses for ten years, then managing press rooms and overall production for 26 years. Randy has served as plant manager at ZUZA since 2010. In his expanded role as vice president, Randy will oversee all of production at ZUZA, maintaining the company’s standards for quality, efficiency and continuous process improvement to provide the best possible customer experience.
