Carlsbad CA— BizAir Shuttle launched their inaugural flight to Las Vegas this morning, July 30, 2015, from McClellan-Palomar in Carlsbad. An Elvis impersonator was on hand along with Carlsbad Mayor, Matt Hall and County Supervisor Bill Horn for a brief reception and then the round-trip flight to Las Vegas.
The airline recently began service to LAX filling a service void left by the April departure of United Airlines from the county owned airport in Carlsbad. BizAir will be adding flights to Phoenix as well.
The airline will provide service to Las Vegas three days a week, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. The flight to McCarran Airport takes approximately one hour with prices beginning at $154.00 giving local travelers another option to avoid the 5 hour drive to the Strip and providing the people in Las Vegas a chance to escape the heat while avoiding congestion at larger airports.
BizAir Shuttle uses 30-passenger Embraer jets and Dornier jets with no “middle” seating. “We bring an excellent safety record, affordable fares, and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations on every flight,” said Ricardo Gomez, Director of Operations and Development at BizAir Shuttle. “BizAir Shuttle is excited to bring the people of Carlsbad our tradition of convenience and uncompromising service with no extra fees.”
The carrier offers complimentary snacks, unlimited WiFi on most flights and late check-in is allowed up to 15 minutes before time of departure. Parking at Palomar Airport is $5.00.
