Oceanside Homicide Victim Identified-Updated

UPDATE: The Oceanside Police Department originally released the name of the victim as Timothy Harris. Today, the department corrected the name to Timothy Harrison.

Oceanside CA— The identity of the homicide victim killed on Sunday August 23rd, 2015 has been released by Oceanside Police as Timothy Harrison; DOB November 14, 1987.

The victims address is unknown and police say no motive has been identified. Currently, no weapon has been recovered or identified as the murder weapon.

On Sunday at approximately 4:26 am., OPD Officers responded to the 500 block of Gold Drive to investigate a radio call referencing shots being fired in the neighborhood. Upon their arrival, Officers were contacted by a witness who said a male subject was inside one of the residences in the neighborhood with a gunshot wound.

Officers entered the residence and found Timothy Harrison with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are following up on several leads and interviewing potential witnesses.
