The Communications Supervisor assigns and monitors the work of subordinate personnel; trains, and evaluates the work of subordinates on an assigned shift; develops and presents training programs; plans and schedules the work of subordinates; recommends staff and equipment needs; develops and revises communications procedures; reviews dispatch tapes in response to information requests and/or complaints; ensures that Police Department policies and procedures are followed; advises Watch Commander of emergency situations and general activities; participates in inter-agency meetings regarding public safety dispatching issues; researches and prepares reports as directed; participates in sub selection interviews; and may assist in the section’s budget preparation process.
