14th annual Oceanside Music Festival, November 8, 2015

Oceanside CA— With its theme titled Colors of Music, the 14th annual Oceanside Music Festival offers concerts this year with a variety of music genres for all ages, showcasing both student and professional musicians from throughout Southern California. The event, free of charge to the general public, is held 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday, November 8, 2015, at the corner of Coast Hwy 101 and Pier View Way downtown Oceanside.
The Roster will include:
International 6 String Cellist, Marston Smith
Jazz/Pop/R&B Harpist, Mariea Antionette
Navy Southwest Band, Brass Quintet
Mellowtones led by Peter DeLuke – 9 piece swing band specializing in Ellington and Strayhorn compositions and arrangements.
Local Favorites and as much young and diverse talent when can pack into the day.

The Annual Oceanside Music Festival has the mission to showcase performing artists from Oceanside and the surrounding communities. For that purpose, Oceanside Music Festival has even created Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation Scholarships in 2008.

In his endorsement letter for Colors of Music, Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood wrote: “the event is sure to please, so mark your calendars and join me for a day of entertainment and fun!” Colors of Music roster includes a diverse variety of performing artists. The festival is presenting a rainbow of genres firmly grounded in tradition. The highlights include: a brass quintet Navy Band Southwest; a unique 6 string cello musician Marston Smith, who LA Times called the “Cello Master Blaster”, he was on Star Trek; an acclaimed jazz/pop/R&B harpist Mariea Antoinette; and others.

The OMFest Committee is a standing committee of the non-profit Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation. It is guided by OCAF, its Mission Statement “to support the Cultural Arts in the City of Oceanside and neighboring communities” and OCAF’s bylaws. OMFest, through a series of annual concerts aims to raise funds for musically talented, deserving graduating seniors; encourage professional, and avocational musicians to mentor students; educate the public at large about the necessity of music in the schools and in our lives; provide a venue for student and avocational musicians to share their talents with their community; recognize and honor members of the community at large who have made lasting contributions to promoting music and the arts in our community; increase awareness of the depth of musical talent within our North County community; and give businesses and individuals the opportunity to invest in the future leaders in the performing arts.
