Oceanside CA— Tune to KOCT – Channel 18, Thursday October 1st at 6pm for a one-hour “live” Journalist Roundtable with an interesting line-up of guest and topics:
Our first guest will be Alex Tardy, a Meteorologist with the National Weather Service . He will discuss the Ying and Yang of our weather, the Drought, and El Nino. Alex is the warning coordination meteorologist at the NWS in San Diego He has worked for the National Weather Service for 22 years.
Our second guest will be Dan McSwain, the business columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune. He will discuss the Pension issue and its potential negative effect on our local and state government. Dan McSwain has 15 years of experience in San Diego County as a journalist. Before joining the San Diego Union-Tribune in 2012, he was managing editor, news editor, editorial page editor, and a business reporter for the North County Times.
Our final segment will be a roundtable discussion about the recent shake-up at the Los Angeles Times and the San Diego Union-Tribune. Guests for this segment include: Dean Nelson, Professor of Journalism at Pt Loma University, and Dan McSwain, the business columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The host for Journalist Roundtable is veteran journalist Kent Davy. He will be joined on set by KPBS’s Alison St John and Columnist Logan Jenkins from the San Diego Union-Tribune.
