CCAE Presents Melissa Etheridge November 6

Escondido CA— Melissa Etheridge will appear in the California Center for the Arts, Escondido Concert Hall Friday, November 6, 2015 performing songs off her 13th studio album, This Is M.E., including “Take My Number,” “Monster,” and “A Little Bit of Me,” plus classic hits like “Come To My Window,” “I’m The Only One” and “Bring Me Some Water.” Interviews and hi-res photos are available upon request.

A rock legend in her own right, Etheridge’s recording career began with the 1988 release of her critically-acclaimed eponymous RIAA double-platinum debut album. For several years, Melissa’s popularity built around such memorable songs as “Bring Me Some Water” (from her debut), “No Souvenirs” (from Brave And Crazy) and “Ain’t It Heavy” (from Never Enough), for which she won her first GRAMMY® for “Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.”

Etheridge hit her commercial break with her fourth album, Yes I Am, featuring the massive hits “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window,” a searing song of longing that brought her a second GRAMMY® for “Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.” The album went six times platinum and spent more than two and a half years on the album chart. Her highest charting album to date, Your Little Secret (#6 on the Billboard Top 200), included the hit single, “I Want to Come Over.” Her astounding success led Etheridge to receive the “Songwriter of the Year” honor at the ASCAP Pop Awards.

In September 2014, Etheridge released her latest album, This Is M.E. On her new recording, Etheridge enlisted a vibrant collection of some of the most creative, inventive figures on the music scene: Jerrod Bettis (Adele, One Republic), Jon Levine (Nelly Furtado, K’Naan, Selena Gomez), Jerry Wonda (GRAMMY® Award-winning producer of the Fugees, Mary J. Blige) and Roccstar (Usher, Chris Brown) at the forefront. It was a very new way of doing things for Etheridge, who counts two GRAMMY® Awards and 17 nominations, an Academy Award (for “I Need to Wake Up” from the Al Gore documentary, An Inconvenient Truth) and a star on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame among her many accolades.

On June 9, 2015, she released a new DVD, entitled A Little Bit Of Me: Live In L.A. The DVD marks a powerful documentation of Etheridge live in concert. Etheridge was in top form for her performance at the historic Orpheum Theater in downtown LA, and the DVD features her performing new songs and classics, as well as an appearance by special guest Delta Rae. A Little Bit Of Me: Live In L.A also includes interviews with Etheridge and her band, Delta Rae, plus a “Backstage Pass,” a behind-the-scenes look at the Orpheum performance, as well as a photo gallery.

Don’t miss this special opportunity to see one of rock music’s greatest performers of our time!
