The professionally taught workshop takes place on November 14, 2015 from 1:30-3:30 pm at ArtBeat’s Gallery and Wine Lounge, 330 Main Street, Vista. The cost is $25 per person. People can reserve their space at https://luminarycandleholder.eventbrite.com.

Workshop-goers do not need to be accomplished artists to achieve a beautiful and functional piece. Instructor/artist Denise McMurtrie, BFA, will lead people through the fun, step-by-step process. She explains, “First, you will create your original watercolor painting. Then, you will transform it into an LED light candleholder. Along the way, you will learn the meaning of the colors you choose.”

ArtBeat owner Kait Matthews says, “The word, luminary, refers to an entity that gives out light. It also denotes a person who inspires others. This workshop will help you attain both!”

She adds, “While you are at the Gallery to make your Luminary, or anytime, please take a moment to browse through our chic boutique of unique items to find holiday gifts at varying price levels. Other shops sell merchandise. From our hand-painted scarves and amazing jewelry to our fantastic handmade, embellished birdhouses, we sell art!”
