Vista CA— ArtBeat on Main Street is delighted to present its first exhibit of 2016: the much-anticipated Gold Leaf Art Show by one of its original co-op artists: Linda Phillips. The exhibit kicks off with an artist’s reception at 6 pm on January 16, 2016. It runs through February 16, 2016.
Elegant, sophisticated and evocative, the oils on top of gold leaf reflect Phillips’ background as a textile designer. She explains, “I was always drawn to pattern and design. Art has been part of a wonderful journey; an expression of my inner life. I enjoy watching the design aspect and fine art merge in unexpected ways. I am grateful to be inspired by the world around me.”
Phillips also enjoys being part of ArtBeat. “Vista needed a creative hub like this. The classes and workshops provide a great way for me and others to continue learning and growing as an artist.”
ArtBeat owner Kait Matthews says, “Linda is exceptionally gifted; we’re fortunate to have high-caliber artists such as Linda participate in our Gallery. Her art is a sophisticated blend of avant-garde design and traditional Impressionism. We are happy to share it with the community.”
Phillips, the daughter of renowned SoCal fine artist Millie Greene, lives in the Vista foothills. More about her and her art can be found at www.lindaphillipsart.com.
