ArtBeat’s GoFundMe Campaign Hits $7,000 Goal and More

Vista CA— ArtBeat on Main Street launched a GoFundMe campaign on December 16, 2015 with an ambitious goal: to raise $7,000 to cover the rising cost of rent and operations while owner Kait Matthews and her team seek the corporate and private sponsorship that will allow this much-loved gallery, wine lounge and cultural destination in the heart of historic downtown Vista to stabilize, grow and enhance its value to the artists and community it serves.

The campaign not only achieved but exceeded its goal: by January 8, 2016, 130 donations, ranging from $5 to $1,000, were submitted to https://www.gofundme.com/artbeat, for an incredible total of $8,567. Many contributors expressed their support in words as well as dollars.

Vista Art Foundation wrote, “We are 100% behind the success of ArtBeat. Your energy, vision and endless donations to our community are sincerely appreciated.” Kelly Moncure said, “I am so grateful to have a place to make art nearby. Thank you for providing Vista with such a special spot.”

Matthews confides, “I am exhilarated and moved by the overwhelmingly positive results and heartfelt statements of support we have received from artists who display here, local celebrities who perform here, civic and business community members, and gallery-goers who enjoy our ever-changing panorama of artworks. Clearly, ArtBeat fills a niche and fulfills a need for enriching lives.”

She says, “We thank everyone for helping to keep ArtBeat’s heart beating. The gallery offers the community a place to meet; a venue for lectures, workshops, poetry and book clubs; a place to experience art in all its forms, from visual to music to theatre. The money raised will also enable us to strengthen partnerships with nonprofits such as North County Arts Network and Ubiquitous. Although the campaign has officially ended, donations at any time and in any amount are welcomed and appreciated.”

ArtBeat on Main Street co-op gallery and wine lounge is located, 330 Main Street, in downtown Vista. It is open Tuesday–Saturday, 11:00am-9:30pm, and Sunday, Noon-4:30pm.
