Oceanside CA— Tune to KOCT – Channel 18, Thursday, March 3rd at 6pm to view the newest episode of Journalist Roundtable.
Our first guest will be the Executive Director of Solutions for Change, Chris Megison. This North County non-profit seeks to solve family homelessness through a variety of innovative programs. As they stated in their annual report: “Solving family homelessness must be about equipping people with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to move from being revenue users, to revenue producers”. Our journalists will explore how successful this approach has been.
Our second guest will be the County Board of Supervisor for the 5th District, Bill Horn. Supervisor Horn will give a preview of his State of North County presentation, discuss the county’s efforts to combat homelessness and give us an update about potential improvements to Carlsbad’s McClellan–Palomar Airport.
Our third guest will be Greg Anglea, the Executive Director for Interfaith Community Services. Their newly opened Haven House Year-Round Emergency Shelter, is the region’s first year-round shelter. We will discuss the costs, services, and goals of this much needed homeless shelter.
Our final guest will be the Opinion Columnist for the Seaside Courier, Thomas Arnold. We will have a stimulating and rapid conversation about all issues North County including: Carlsbad’s Measure A, the June and November elections, political signs, and much more.
