Deadline to Apply is March 13
Oceanside CA— MiraCosta College’s Financial Aid/Scholarship Office is now accepting applications for the 2016-17 academic year. There are more than 250 scholarships available. Students may apply through March 13, 2016.
Scholarship awards range from $500 to $2,500. Last year the college foundation awarded more than $325,000 in scholarships. Scholarship funds are donated by individuals, clubs, organizations and businesses.
The scholarship committee, consisting of MiraCosta faculty, staff and community volunteers, read and rate the applications, and ultimately select the recipients.
Each May, the MiraCosta College Foundation holds an annual event designed to give special recognition to our scholarship awardees and thank our scholarship donors and event sponsors. This year’s Scholarship Awards Celebration will take place on Saturday, May 21.
Moved to a larger venue to accommodate the additional scholarship recipients, the event is designed to be fun, festive and meaningful. “This year, the event sponsors, scholarship donors and awardees will be seated together and given the time to get to know one another over light refreshments and musical entertainment,” said Linda Fogerson, executive director of the foundation. “We’re grateful to our event sponsors Kitchell, Balfour Beatty Construction and Mission Federal Credit Union, whose support helps make this event possible.”
